[Contemporary Perspectives Lecture Series] Janet Echelman @Boston University

Thu, Apr 2 2015 6:30 am - 8:00 pm

Free

Ever wonder what it’d be like if aliens left massive, unfathomable Christmas lights all over our cities? Or, if you’re an adult, have you ever wondered what feats of imagination take place in the mind of one of the world’s foremost installation artists? Boston’s own JANET ECHELMAN weaves titanic, yet elegant, ethereal sculptures out of industrial netting that shift in color and seem more the product of humongous fluorescent spiders than mere mortal hands. Her works have been seen in cities and museums the world over, and her Boston debut is coming this spring to the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
